Nick Gay
Motion Designer and Editor

Pairing conceptual thinking with technical know-how, Nick’s versatility and skill are invaluable to the Sapling team. From visualizing an idea to executing the final project, Nick merges and understands these sides of the ever-evolving TV and film industry.

Nick grew up in Virginia Beach, and as a tyke, was passionate about illustration. He’s continued his education in the visual arts and for the past decade he’s worked in the D.C. area as a graphic designer, video editor, and motion graphics artist. He’s served clients through his own Floating Elephant and as a media designer at Planet Vox. He’s worked with clients including the Environmental Defense Fund, Union of Concerned Scientists, NRDC, National Nurses United, Oceana, Greenpeace, and EMILY's List.

Through a love for collaboration and indie filmmaking, Nick won “Best Motion Graphics” for the DC 48 Hour Film Project in both 2010 and 2011. He recently worked on a short film titled "When Beautiful People Do Ugly Things" which was recently accepted into the Short Film Corner of the Festival de Cannes.

When Nick's not absorbed in his work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and plotting their next getaway food tour.
